Former Global Head of IT at magic circle law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Chris Jekiel, has been appointed IT Director of Horwich Farrelly.
Jekiel has more than 20 years’ industry experience, with previous employers including McDonald’s, XCHANGING, and Computacenter. In his new role, he’ll be heading a department of 70 (at Freshfields Bruckhaus Derringer, his team had over 200 members), and will be jumping in at the deep end, getting straight to work on a number of major projects.
These include Horwich Farrelly’s biggest ever change programme (the implementation of a new case management system), ensuring the firm’s IT platforms are robust and scaleable, and assisting the risk and compliance team with GDPR preparation.
“The insurance market is changing faster than ever with ever increasing pressures placed on improving efficiencies, without compromising the quality of the services we provide,” Horwich Farrelly Chairman John O’Roarke said. “Central to our business strategy is our new case management system which has seen more than 100 colleagues collaborate on the project. Now, with an experienced IT leader in place in the form of Chris Jekiel we look forward to executing our final launch plan.”
