Windows Firewall control tool BiniSoft has been acquired by Malwarebytes, in a deal of undisclosed financial terms.
Prior to the acquisition BiniSoft was offered by a web-based independent developer, with users providing a one-time donation in exchange for access to all programs provided by BiniSoft.
The software allows admins quick access to Windows Firewall settings, and enhances the management functionality of networking rules for each application.
Binisoft is the best tool on the market to manage the native firewall from Windows. We believe that massive adoption of Binisoft proves our assertion.
– Marcin Kleczynski, CEO, Malwarebytes
“Malwarebytes wanted a Windows Firewall control tool that could easily and quickly integrate into the Malwarebytes platform,” said Malwarebytes CEO Marcin Kleczynski.
He added: “The Binisoft Windows Firewall Control was the perfect choice for better management of firewall control options, setting up rules for each program and application and delivering a more secure environment for our customers. Binisoft is the best tool on the market to manage the native firewall from Windows. We believe that massive adoption of Binisoft proves our assertion.”
The tool will be integrated into the Malwarebytes platform, though at least in the short term, BiniSoft will retain its current name, supplemented by Malwarebytes branding.
