New MD for UAE and Oman appointed by SAP

SAP has appointed Julien Bertin as its new Managing Director for the UAE and Oman.

Bertin, who will be responsible for driving the company’s five-year $200m regional investment plan, joins the company from Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where he was Managing Director for the Middle East. He was with HP for 18 years in several roles, and managed several business units and projects across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“Julien Bertin has a strong track record of leading successful teams across diverse territories and business cultures,” said Gergi Abboud, Senior Vice President and General Manager, SAP Middle East South.

He went on to say: “Our UAE investment plan, and expanded intelligent enterprise solutions, are supporting the UAE Centennial 2071 Plan and Expo 2020 Dubai, helping to drive digital business innovation, growing our channel partner ecosystem, and enhancing our corporate social responsibility initiatives.”

Bertin will report directly to Abboud in his new role.

In addition to his extensive management experience with HP, he holds degrees in mathematics and computing sciences from Northumbria University and London South Bank University. He is also currently working on an MSc in Space Science & Technology.
